Henceforth, this is where I will be shitposting from. Also The Subaru all-weather floor mat coasters are still the greatest thing.

I have to admit, I’m jealous of the coaster.

You can get them at most Subaru dealers. I think its like $10 for a 4 pack. Not entirely sure, my wife got them for me as a gift a while back.

Looks great! Is that real wood or a veneer?

Veneer. Hell, not even real veneer: screen-printed wood grain on vinyl laminated to particle board. It actually looks better in that photo than real life. It’s like a 1990's Buick dashboard. BUT - not bad for $160 delivered to my front door and way sturdier than another particle board piece of junk that it is replacing. The legs are at least actual steel which fits with a wrought iron theme going on in the house. And the chair actually has real slate inlays. It’s part of a decent dinette set that my parents got me as a gift when I bought the house.

Even better. Then you don’t have to deal with trying to be upsold an $80 air filter. In all seriousness, though, I love Amazon Prime. I’ve even started buying things like socks and soap from Amazon just to save a trip to the store. Pretty much the only brick and mortar places that I go to are the grocery store and the garage. Dammit, now I thinking about trying to get a loan to start an internet-based oil-change service. I’m thinking fleet of trucks with air compressors and decent jacks. Schedule with the app, truck shows up and boom LOF, tire rotation and the old oil is hauled off. I bet a lot of people would pay a little more than Jiffy Lube for the convenience. The hang up would probably be the insurance/bonds and licenses required to go onto other people’s property and work on their cars.

You almost got a spit take on the 90s Buick dash part!
At least the framing is decent. If it starts to crumble you can make your own replacement panels. And for $160? Why not.

From Wal-Mart believe it or not. Like I said to BirdDog, it looks cheaper in person and up close, but looks pretty good from a distance and seems solid enough. $160 with free shipping was too good to pass up. OEM is actually Sauder who make a mix of decent stuff and lower-rent stuff. Hopefully it’ll hold up.

It is somewhat tempting in a few years when its all beat up to cut some plywood to replace the particle board and keep the steel frame.
